Borla is made for the techniques that are in no hurry: needle felting, punch needle and weaving all ask for calm, repetition and presence. That is why it is a workshop designed to come to each month, sit down without watching the clock and progress at your own pace. Here what matters is not finishing fast, but enjoying the moment of creating.
Materials are not included in the price: you buy them here at the workshop depending on the technique and the amount you need. This way you work at your own pace and can focus on one technique or experiment with several throughout the month.
Techniques you can practise
At Borla you can devote yourself to any of our textile techniques, except tufting, which has its own more intensive format.
Needle Felting
Transform loose wool fibre into figures, illustrations and unique pieces using just a needle. It is meditative and intuitive: one of the techniques that best fits the calm of Borla.

Punch Needle
With a special needle you build up textures and designs with yarn on fabric: tote bags, keychains, wall pieces… An addictive, rewarding stitch to do little by little.

Weaving
We weave by hand with colours and textures on the artisan loom. You can work with t-shirt yarn (trapillo) and, if you want to experiment with different textures, you can bring your own materials.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need prior experience?
No. All Borla techniques are beginner-friendly and the instructor supports you with whatever you need.
Do I have to bring materials?
Materials are not included in the fee: you buy them at the workshop itself depending on the technique and the amount you use. For weaving we work with t-shirt yarn (trapillo) and, if you like, you can bring your own materials to experiment with other textures.
Can I do tufting at Borla?
Tufting is not part of Borla, because it is a more intensive technique with its own workshop format. At Borla we focus on the techniques you enjoy slowly.
